In September 2013 we commenced a programme of Manta Ray awareness workshops aimed at marine biologists and watersports and dive centre staff in the Maldives as part of an IUCN project to monitor study and protect marine megafauna which are important to tourism. The first workshop was held at LUX* Resort Maldives in South Ari atoll and we were fortunate to attract many of the stakeholders of the South Ari Atoll Marine Protected Area.
